The Online Challenge requires only a written proposal to be submitted. The submitted proposal should include the following:

• A detailed description of the proposed hands-free system addressing specific technical requirements.
• Rationale as to why the hacker believes that the proposed concept works as presented. This should include evidence that all technologies could be pieced together today from existing technologies or all technologies have been used in other applications and there is evidence it could be adapted to this purpose as well. A discussion of technology maturity rating (e.g., use the NASA TRL scale) should be included. Your argument that your ideas can be implemented fairly quickly with existing technologies will be very important.
• Diagram/schematics of any algorithm and/or device(s) required.
• Background & relevant experience of the hacker. If the hacker has the desire and capability to continue work in this area, they should make it known to us in their submissions.
• Technology maturity rating (e.g., use the NASA TRL scale)
• Cost analysis or rationale addressing why the proposed approach is a cost-effective solution, including low component cost, low implementation cost, improved caregiver efficiency, cost avoidance, and/or better patient outcomes for example.
