Any proposed solution should address the following technical requirements:

• The system will have to convey patient information. It should, at a minimum, be able to describe a few lines of data and a chart or graph.
• The system shall be of a type such that information can be conveyed to the nurse allowing him/her to look at the patient as well as hear information.
• The data should be able to be recalled by the nurse without the need to touch a screen or keyboard continuously (hands-free).
• All technology used in the system must exist today. It is okay if they are used in another application and need to be adapted, but not okay, if features need to be invented. It is also okay if software needs to be written as long as there is evidence that similar software has been written previously.
• The system should be capable of audibly understanding and conveying many common types of data, including pictures, videos, charts, graphs, waveforms, numbers, and dates.
• The system must be capable of being secured to protect data including some type of “hands-free login” after recognizing the user.
• The system has a two-way capability and allows the user to record notes (hands-free) and keep a log to be retrieved if needed.

If multiple proposals meet all the Solution Requirements, we reserve the right to award only the solution which we believe is most likely to be successfully and cost-effectively implemented.
