Judging Criteria

Ideation Phase

1. Business Feasibility (20 points)

Submissions should encapsulate feasible solutions to real-world problems within a given context. Explaining how your solution will be implemented within a business will help clearly convey your vision to the judges.

2. Creativity (15 points)

The submission should represent a new and innovative way of solving a specific problem that would be viewed as groundbreaking within one or more industries. The easiest way to ensure that you meet this criterion is by searching for existing products that address the problem you are tackling and comparing the uniqueness of your submissions against those existing products.

3. Approach (15 points)

Submissions should clearly explain your idea, how it was conceived, and how you will go about building the solution. Help the judges understand your viewpoint and methods from ideation to development.

4. Use of Project AIR (25 points)

Project AIR is a powerful IoT platform with unique capabilities that can be used to address many use cases across many verticals. The judges are looking for submissions that use those capabilities to maximize value. It is highly recommended that you understand all Project AIR capabilities before making a final submission.

5. Sustainability Impact (25 points)

Project AIR can be used to create powerful industry-specific solutions that make the world a better place. The judges are looking for submissions that illustrate this point in the best possible way by explaining an obvious impact on environmental sustainability for natural resources (water, waste management, energy), especially for large contributors of climate change such as transportation and logistics.

 Development Phase

1. Completeness (15 Points)

Your submission needs to demonstrate a working end-to-end use case or cases. The functionality developed needs to closely follow the idea that was submitted during the Ideation Phase.

2. Technical Feasibility (20 Points)

The judges are interested in seeing a full range of realistic solutions that are architected in a way that makes sense based on modern and current design principles. If your submission was implemented in the real world, could its architecture be implemented and maintained?

3. Use of Project AIR (25 Points)

Project AIR is a powerful IoT platform with unique capabilities that can be used to address many use cases. Your project should incorporate as many of those capabilities as possible.

4. Enterprise Readiness (15 Points)

While the judges understand that the submission may need several iterations to make it enterprise-ready beyond the submission date, the judges are looking for submissions that demonstrate that enterprise readiness has been considered in its design. Factors such as scalability, maintainability, and cloud-readiness should influence the design.

5. Technical Innovation (25 Points)

Project AIR is an innovative platform that pushes the boundaries of modern architectural concepts. The judges want to see the same characteristics in your project(s) that demonstrate technically sound and ambitiously innovative solutions.

THE JUDGES’ DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING. THE SUBMISSIONS SHALL BE JUDGED ON A POINTS SYSTEM BASED ON THE CRITERIA DESCRIBED ABOVE.
