How to apply?

Company Track

The Company Track is open only for existing company teams and addresses 2 dedicated challenges. It is directed to specialised companies, startups and scale-ups who can tweak or build on existing solutions to meet the business challenges objectives and who have the ambition and capability to scale up their solution in partnership with major financial institutions. Teams should be minimum 2 and maximum 7 people.

Please take note that this a physical hackathon taking place in Brussels, Belgium. If accepted, you will need to make your own travel arrangements to Brussels.

All your team members should register by clicking the registration button. You'll each have to create an account on HackerEarth and then you'll be asked a few questions about the track you want to apply for (Company vs Open Track), and your background and skills.

Next, you'll need to create your team and "submit your idea". Click the link "View Team" to edit your team details. Here you can invite your teammates to the team and write a team description. Make sure that “looking for teammates is switched” to "NO" so only members from your startup can be a part of your team. Click "save".

Then, as a team, submit an "idea". In this submission you don't need to describe your final solution, but rather include a company introduction and a short motivation (no longer than 1 page) of why and how your team will be able to deploy its existing products and services to solve one of the challenges. Note that this submission will be private, seen only by the judges.

Open Track

The Open Track addresses one challenge, to which anybody can apply. This means you don't need to be an established company team. We’re taking applications from developers, designers, entrepreneurs, technologists, futurologists - in short, all ambitious professionals who feel compelled to tackle this challenge. In the run-up to the physical hackathon, you have the opportunity to form or join a team within the Open Track. This is not obligatory: teams can be created during the physical hackathon as well.

Please take note that this a physical hackathon taking place in Brussels, Belgium. If accepted, you will need to make your own travel arrangements to Brussels.

You and any team members (if you have any) should register by clicking the registration button. You'll each have to create an account on HackerEarth and then you'll be asked a few questions about the track you want to apply for (Company vs Open Track), and your background and skills.

Next, you'll need to create your "team" and "submit your idea". Click the link "View Team" to edit your team details. Note that for the Open Track you can apply as a one person team. There will be a team formation activity at the physical hackathon. However, if you are keen to start networking with fellow application, you can turn on the "looking for teammates" option and people will be able to send you a request to be a part of your team. You can also send such requests if you like.

Then, as a "team" (remember, your team could just be you), submit an "idea". In this submission you don't need to describe a comprehensive idea, but rather include a a short motivation (no longer than 1 page) of why you want to take part in the hackathon and why you'd make a good contribution. Note that this submission will be private, seen only by the judges.
