Overview

Hacking is building things that you always wanted to have but no one has built it yet. It's to come up with an amazing idea and work tirelessly on it. It is to fail, fail again and fail better. Try out new things and learn while doing that. It's to work together, collaborate and build things that are innovative. It is to be a better programmer.

With that spirit, University of Toronto is conducting a hackathon - UOFTHACKS IV and invites all developers and hackathon enthusiasts to participate in an interesting and engaging hackathon.

UofTHacks is general themed.

This means that you are free to create anything you like!

This prize is sponsored by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and Defense Research and Development Canada (DRDC).

The criteria are as follows:

a) Given a set of images with real targets please formulate a creative way of finding these targets using free/open source software and web services

b) Can a cell phone capability in a dead zone (with no cellular service) be utilized to help the air force pinpoint that target?

The winner of this intellectual prize will be invited on a tour of DRDC in Toronto, ON.
