Rules

Account Registration:

  • Each registered individual or member of a team is referred to as a participant.
  • Participants may only participate using a single, unique HackerEarth account registered at http://www.hackerearth.com.
  • A participant must use his/her own account and not a third party’s account.
  • Participating in the Hackathon using more than one HackerEarth account per individual is a breach of these rules and Chegg reserves the right to disqualify any participant or team that includes the participant who has breached these rules.

Teams:

  • A participant may either participate in his individual capacity or collaborate with more than one participant to form a team.
  • Each team member must be a single individual with a single, active HackerEarth account.
  • Each team member must register individually for the Hackathon before joining a team.
  • The minimum number of participants in a team will be set to 1 (one participant) and the maximum number of participants in a team will be limited to 4 (four) participants. If a team has more than 4 participants, it will be disqualified.
  • You can either invite your friends to form a team or you can request other teams to add you as a member.

GENERAL TERMS:

Prize Payment Terms:

Chegg will evaluate the submissions made in the Hackathon and will select one winner and one runner-up. The prize money would be credited in the bank account of participants subject to the following:

  • To receive the amount, participants of the Hackathon are required to provide sufficient reports and documentation as requested by Chegg India.
  • Chegg would not be responsible for any delay or non-payment due to a non-functional or deactivated bank account.
  • TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) will be applicable as per the prevailing income tax rules of India.
  • Participants of Hackathon are responsible for any tax liability associated with the payment of the Prize money under this Program.
  • Ideas submitted by a team would be a single entry. The team would be eligible for a single payment if they were selected as a winner or Runner-up.
  • Chegg reserves the right to void, withhold, invalidate, or reverse in whole or in part any payment in the event of the participant’s violation of the terms related to Hackathon, or failure to supply required documentation that is complete and accurate.

Warranties and Obligations

You must adhere to the following Terms and Conditions when you are registering for the Hackathon:

  • Your account details must be complete and accurate.
  • If any information given by your team members or you during registration is incomplete or inaccurate, then:
    • Your registration may be rejected or terminated.
    • All the submissions are added by your team members, or you will be disqualified.
    •  The right to terminate your account and disqualify your submissions remains with Chegg.

Reservation of Rights

Chegg reserves the right to:

  • Modify the start date and end date of the hackathon.
  • Modify or add terms & conditions of this Program in its sole discretion.
