Sr. Front End Engineer

Machine Learning Operations and Tools team in Highly Autonomous Driving (HAD) Group in HERE, supports tooling requests of multiple internal teams within the organization. We are mostly involved with the development of applications to gather training data for deep machine learning algorithms. Most of our projects have revolved around web application development and development of data pipelines for training feedback loops. We strive to use simple but cutting-edge technologies and approaches for implementing all of our tools.

With our help, teams should be able to improve machine learning projects, and also gather information about the quality and effectiveness of our users.

Responsibilities:

• Software design and design reviews
• Software development of application or system components
• Code reviews and mentoring juniors
• Unit testing of developed code
• Maintain and run tools and processes that support and automate software product release
• Work with multiple teams in HERE in understanding product and software requirements
• Adapt configuration management tools for the complex needs of the development teams or the management of the development process
• Deploy the development artifacts to AWS cloud
• Encourage and follow agile development methodologies

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in software development
• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems

Must have skills:

• Strong knowledge in Angular or React
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be a team-player with the ability to work within a collaborative environment
• Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Creative, resourceful and innovative problem solver
• Self-taught and self-teaching, with a demonstrated aptitude for acquiring knowledge and skills

Following skills add value:

• Proficient in JavaScript/JQuery & Bootstrap CSS3, HTML5, D3.js
• Proficient in Java and JSON
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Automated Unit Testing using Jasmine or Grunt or similar tools
• Proficient with Unix/Linux
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and components (EC2, RDS, SQS, SNS, S3, Dynamo DB etc.)
• Proficient in a Source Code Management tool (e.g., GIT)
• Knowledge of agile development techniques such as TDD, Pair Programming, Refactoring, Continuous Integration
