Route Mobile API Developer Network, is an initiative to connect global API developers together to build a community. The program includes a global open API challenge, where the developers will learn how to consume, ideate, create, and share our various APIs with the community.

Developers will be at the heart of this transformation and technology will be the core enabler of this tectonic change. If you have a bright idea, coding is your passion, and solving problems that matter is your calling - we have the platform for you.

Note: All teams that are promoted to the prototype round (round 2), will receive credentials to Route Mobile's Postman API collection.

E-commerce & Retail

The global pandemic has accelerated the technological world and transformed many aspects of our lives, including how we work, where we shop, and what new products & services are offered to us. It has also revealed the inadequacies, inefficiency, and mere primitiveness of many of the processes and practices governing the way we conduct our daily activities or make purchases.

Retailers require solutions that enable them to sell products online with the same efficiency, system integration, and customer satisfaction that they do in physical stores such as fitting rooms, personal interaction, and assistance, among other things.

Can you build a solution to save e-commerce platforms and retail businesses while also bridging the gap?

(Your solution can be in the field of but not limited to: AI/ML, Data Science, Fraud Intelligence, Automation, Blockchain, IOT, App Development, Other)

Fintech

Many digital medical advisory and health applications specifically for mobile were launched as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. How can insurers and medical advising partners securely share data and analytical models while remaining compliant with legal and regulatory requirements?

Ed Tech

With the distinctive rise of e-learning, education has transformed tremendously.
Today, teaching is done remotely using a variety of digital platforms.

However, not every student benefits from it. Not everyone has 24X7 reliable internet access due to which some students struggle to make the most of this type of learning. Not only that, but the efficiency of online learning varies with age too.

An 18-year-old may have the patience to sit through a two-hour-long lecture, but some children, especially the younger ones, are easily distracted. We need to create an environment for them that is structured, conducive, and goes beyond simply reproducing a physical class/lecture through video capability, by using a range of collaboration tools and engagement strategies.

Can you build a solution that is capable of resolving this issue that could help schools and institutions provide a consistent experience for each student?

(Your solution can be in the field of but not limited to: AI/ML, Data Science, Fraud Intelligence, Automation, Blockchain, IOT, App Development, Other)

Healthcare

In-person consultations have been associated with healthcare. Hence, we all tend to rush to the nearest healthcare clinic for treatment. However, given the current situation, this is not safe.
The need for remote access or virtual consultations is NOW.

Furthermore, healthcare practitioners seem to be functioning in silos. We require a single platform that can bring the healthcare business together on the same page, allowing doctors to communicate with their patients and address their concerns promptly.

Can you build a solution to help them provide seamless services?

Travel / Aviation / Hospitality

Even in this time of uncertainty, when the numbers and projections show the real depth of disruption to the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality industry, there also is opportunity.

Hack the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality experience, in ways that leverage technology before, during or after the journey, and positively transform Tourism, Travel and Hospitality for consumers and the industry. Suggestion: consider travel inspiration, searching, planning, shopping, experiencing, memorializing and sharing, and don't overlook mobile services.

Delivery / Logistics

A 78% growth in last-mile deliveries is expected to happen in the next decade, primarily due to changes in consumer behaviour, new e-commerce services such as same-day delivery, and the COVID-19 pandemic. This growth is projected to contribute to a 30% increase in CO2 emissions, and a 21% increase in urban congestion.

Your challenge is to identify and conceptualize, new or improved data- driven business solutions within the urban logistics ecosystem, to alleviate these effects, especially for last-mile deliveries.

You should focus on creating new conceptual business models for how logistics and delivery companies can make more informed decisions and improve their business operations, while reducing their impacts on congestion and gas emissions in cities.

The proposed solutions could be related, but not limited, to improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, enabling collaboration with cities, or optimizing warehousing and distribution strategies. The most valuable ideas should simultaneously enable logistics companies to mitigate their impact on congestion, noise, and air quality, land use and curb allocation; or help inform better infrastructure interventions, public transit planning, and regulations. Ideas for collaboration between cities and logistics companies are also welcome.

(Your solution can be in the field of but not limited to: AI/ML, Data Science, Fraud Intelligence, Automation, Blockchain, IOT, App Development, Other)

Smart Home / Industrial Automation

The idea is to develop a fully autonomous smart energy monitoring system for an entire building. It is similar to how smart homes and offices work today, only magnified in this case. This AI-based system can utilise deep learning to recognize patterns of behavior at home or at work in order to better control energy consumption, electricity usage, security, and operating costs. In addition to fingerprint readers and RFID, the system should be able to track staff attendance utilizing CCTV cameras for facial recognition.
