Overview

Hacking is building things that you always wanted to have but no one has built it yet. It's to come up with an amazing idea and work tirelessly on it. It is to fail, fail again and fail better. Try out new things and learn while doing that. It's to work together, collaborate and build things that are innovative. It is to be a better programmer.

With that spirit, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology is conducting a hackathon - Hack@NSIT and invites all developers and hackathon enthusiasts to participate in an interesting and engaging hackathon. Hack@NSIT 2016 is the second iteration of NSIT's very own Annual Software Hackathon. For 24 intense hours, more than 150 of the most talented students from around the world will push the limits of technology.

Have an awesome idea you’ve been meaning to build? This is your chance.

Keen on learning all about a new piece of technology? Hack@NSIT 2016 is the place to be.

We bring the most influential mentors, unlimited coffee, wifi, food and an adrenaline fueled environment powered by some of the world’s best companies. Bring your laptops (and it's charger too), creativity, and a desire to make a difference in a big way - all this with a chance to pocket hefty prizes worth Rs. 70k.

Some kind of educational game that teaches some environmental values to adults and /or kids. The game should not totally be just a source of entertainment. You may think upon like correct recycling at home.

Help the customer in making better buying decisions. You may think of how retail chains use technology to be more consumer friendly. Enables retailers to serve their customers better Recommending products, personalising the interactions

Disaster Response and Assistance

Available shelters or local assistance center (LAC) for my family during disaster events. How can we provide and share useful information for our local community during and after the disaster events (wildfires, floods, and earthquakes)? The locals can be informed and be able to mobilize when the next disaster happens.

Health & Wellness

Enhancing quality for using traditional ways for optimal health & happiness.Something revolving around reviving Grandma's recipes/remedies (using traditional food/ingredients) and attempting trials and taking reviews of the new ways.

Citizen services

This includes the services offered by the local government made available to the citizens e.g. police stations, fire stations, schools, colleges etc. Presently, no analysis is done about whether citizens services offered are satisfactory. Plus, there is no dashboard / mechanism for the government that allows them to track existing infrastructure and services and their running.
