Team description
The main objective of our hack is a Virtual Reality experience with a haptic glove for sensory feedback of holding real products in a virtual environment for people with physical disability. This a major platform for a variety of applications. We attempted to direct it toward the medical field.
A Virtual Reality headset is implemented along with a haptic glove which allows users to feel the product in 3 dimensions at various positions and also provide a unique 3 dimensional view of the product. This will give users the overall feel of the structure of the object. Remote surgeries can be done from a far off place with great precision. We do not need highly experienced doctors everywhere in the country. The glove can also be attached to a robot which perform surgeries based on the training done by experts. People who do not have hands can actually start holding objects with the help of this glove. It can also help people who cannot move their hands, to help move it through prescribed therapy (as the glove can be programmed to move any way). It can also be used to train the medical students on a virtual environment.
