Overview

The processing of video data is a challenge for police investigators and security teams. Acuiti sees this as an opportunity because the imagery contains important leads for analyst searching for people of interest after a series of crime or when someone goes missing. It is a challenge because the vast and ever increasing volume of video data is difficult to process and search through. Hence, Acuiti is calling all enthusiastic developers who would like to help solve this problem and by extension help solve crimes and save lives. This Hackathon invites all developers who have a knack for solving challenging problems and thus help security teams in forensic analysis.

Problem statement, objective and deliverables:

This is the Acuiti Repository Link that contains all the necessary details about the problem statement, objective and deliverables and this should help you kickstart the hackathon.

Evaluation Criteria :

  • Level of difficulty solved: the more you work on solving the toughest level 0x03, the more it helps you get more score. Potential points will be awarded based on the correctness of the solution and not just uploading the videos

  • Deliverables: Functional Source code and video(s) for respective level.

  • Github, Bitbucket or any repository containing deliverables.

  • Description of each level solved along with brief detailing on methods used. You are free to use readme.md as information on extension(s) you've worked on.

  • Screen scraping would not be considered a solution.

The Challenge is centred around decoding various video formats into common video format mp4/h264 by means of code and tools.
