Schindler is looking to hire passionate Software Developers for their Corporate Research & Development Centre, Chakan (Pune).

Eligibility criteria:

  • Years of Experience: 5 to 10 years
  • Degree: Bachelor’s Engineering & Master’s Engineering
  • Skills: C and C++ languages, Data Structures, Algorithms, Real-time operating systems, Microcontrollers, etc.

Note: The job location of the said role is in Chakan Pune

  • As a job condition, you will be essentially asked to relocate to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area of Pune.

Challenge Format:

  • 2 programming questions restricted to C and C++
  • 20 MCQ's on relevant topics.

General Mission:

The job holder develops elevator control SW for embedded systems or application software running on Linux or Windows. This includes various disciplines as analysis & design, implementation, documentation and SW testing. In addition, the communication throughout the project team must be assured by active involvement with requirement and test team members.

The job holder is responsible for the quality of their own development results, according to Schindler's development standards and processes. Innovative, proactive mindset and ability to work independently are required. Furthermore, the Software Engineer integrates the Software components into the overall software package. This includes the integration of Software components developed by Junior Software Engineers.

The job holder is responsible for all legal requirements such as industry-specific regulations, internal regulations, national, Indian and other technical standards and to follow them without exception in his / her area of responsibility. In safety aspects, there is no exception to the only principle: "when in doubt, safety prevails". In addition, civil and criminal laws set standards that have to be complied with.

Main Responsibilities:

Development of Application SW by keeping the focus on the R&D CO mission statements:

Develop high-quality SW, which is maintainable for a long period of time and allows a short time to market for additional features.

This includes the following tasks:

  • Analysis, design, and implementation of SW according to state-of-the-art technologies
  • Document the development work (including source code documentation)
  • Document the SW component design
  • Review of own development work and development work from others
  • Continuous improvements (Refactoring) where applicable
  • Develop and write concepts and specifications
  • Build strong team for cross package development
  • Ensure integrity of interfaces within the SW, other subsystems like e.g. drive, door or building systems, and to the overall product configuration process
  • Guide/coach team on domain skills
  • Analyze field issues and provide support

Professional experience: 5 to 10 Years.

Should have worked on embedded development in domains as developer.

  • Electronic control unit in automotive
  • Industrial automation products development
  • Consumer Electronics/Electrical product development
  • Process control products development
  • DSP, Microcontroller based system software development (16-bit, 32 bit)
  • Good understanding of on chip peripherals (ADC, SPI, I2C, Timers, Watchdog, Flash Memory, SDRAM Interface etc), external peripheral interface (SDRAM, EERPOM, ADC, IO Expanders)
  • RTOS (eCos, Linux, QNX and any other) for embedded systems, IPC. Understanding Kernel services.
  • Protocols like CAN, RS232, I2C, SPI
  • Clarity on bootloader, programming tools
  • Diagnostic of system
  • Basic understanding of control system components (Sensors, Actuators, Relays, Drives)

Programming Languages:

  • C++, C:
  • Good clarity on OOAD concepts
  • Understanding architecture of system/designed the system
  • Design patterns
  • Advanced concepts are additional
  • Model based development in any other tool is plus

SDLC:

  • Agile (Scrum, Kanban)
  • V-Model
  • Review process
  • Requirements development, understanding
  • Continuous Improvement

Tools:

  • Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence, BitBuket, ….)
  • Git
  • IDE for microcontroller, microprocess (at least one tool has used)

Artefact Responsibilities:

Based on Scrum SW development process he/she is responsible for the following artefacts:

  • Code Implementation, Design
  • Model, Unit Test Cases (Implementation), SW Realization
  • Documents, Detail Design Documents, Software release process
  • Communication and Coordination
  • Communication skills, dealing with international & multicultural teams
