Rules

  • This is a team participation hackathon. You can have at most 3 members in your team.

  • You can either invite your friends to form a team or you can request other teams to add you as a member.

  • The hackathon will start at Jul 28, 2017 09:30 PM and end at Jul 29, 2017 05:30 PM, you work on your hack during the allotted time only.

  • It's an online hackathon, you can participate from anywhere.

  • There are 1 themes of the hackathon, you must submit a hack that is in one of these themes.

  • Once the hackathon starts, you will get an option to submit your hack, you can submit as many times as you want, the last hack will be considered as the final submission.

  • You are expected to come up with new and innovative ideas, any idea that has been copied from somewhere will be disqualified.

  • Your hack must be developed entirely during the Hackathon duration. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems / services such as Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds etc.

  • The intellectual property of your code belongs only to your team.

  • By participating in the hackathon, you agree to the terms and conditions of HackerEarth.

Terms and Conditions

Accenture presents "HACKFORWARD" hackathon challenge, Rules of Participation ("Rules")

"HACKFORWARD" (the "Contest") shall be organized, conducted and sponsored by Accenture India Private Limited ("Organizer / Accenture") and shall be open for submitting the online entries from July 07, 2017 to July 9, 2017 (both days inclusive) ("Entry Period" for the online round).

Receipt of Entries and Eligibility

  1. Entry will be invited through an online entry form as available on hackerearth.com and during the Entry Period the participants need to participate in the online hackathon challenge.
  2. The challenge will comprise of three tracks, eliciting responses from individuals who have a working knowledge of these tracks. These tracks would be Amazon Web Services, SPLUNK and VP/TP.
  3. The Contest is open to all individuals with a graduate degree and at least two years of work experience
  4. The Contest is divided into two parts. The first part (online) is open to all individuals who wish to participate and is an individual challenge. Participants who complete the online part basis the evaluation criteria and satisfaction of the Organizers, will be informed and invited for the second part at a physical location in Bangalore. The evaluation criteria are mentioned below,
  5. The participants who clear the first-round need to participate in the second round in teams of 3 (three) forming teams with an Accenture employee paired by the Organizer.
  6. Participants who clear round one and are invited to Bangalore for round two should make arrangements for their travel and stay on their own accord. Accenture or the Organizer will not be responsible for the travel or stay of qualified participants and do not bear any responsibility.
  7. Entries will be accepted in English language only and the submissions should be made in the template provided on hackerearth.com.
  8. Any incomplete/inaccurate entries or entry after the close of Entry Period shall be invalid and any such entry may be permitted only at the sole discretion of Organizer.
  9. The right to permit or restrict participation is at the sole discretion of the Organizer.
  10. Accenture employees who participate and win will be liable to tax based on the value of the prizes.

Incorrect Information

  1. Organizer has the right to substantiate/ /verify the participants' details/information as provided in the entry form or Organizer may seek any further document, as may be required to verify the participants' details/ information. The participant must provide all supporting details requested by the Organizer to substantiate/ /verify the information provided in the entry form. If such a request is made and the participant either fails or does not agree to provide the same, then the Organizer reserves the right to disqualify such participant from participating in the Contest.
  2. Determination of whether information is correct or not, rests solely with the Organizer.
  3. If at any time, any information provided by any participant is found to be incorrect in any manner, then the participant will be disqualified from participating in the Contest.
  4. If, after the conclusion of the Contest ceremony, any information provided by any participant is found to be incorrect in any manner, the participant will be liable to return the prize (if any) or any other monetary / non-monetary incentives provided as part of the Contest.

Short-listing

  1. Challenge 1 is the online round where individuals need to share an online submission. Basis the evaluation criteria, the submission will be short-listed. Individuals/Participants will be informed if they have qualified for the grand finale
  2. Evaluation criteria will be broadly based on completeness of submission and on the following:
    quality of submitted solution, understanding of the problem, innovative approach towards the solution, going the extra mile to build PoC for exploit, build wireframe or flow to further explain the solution/hack, documentation, robust design and architectural knowledge.
  3. The decision of the Organisers with respect to short-listing is binding and final on all participants.
  4. The grand finale will be held in Bangalore, travel arrangements for which will need to be made by individuals/participants.
  5. Teams will be formed basis the Organizer’s discretion and would involve individuals who have participated directly via Hacker Earth as well as Accenture employees.

Winner and Determination of Winners

  1. There will be 3 (three winning teams) comprising of 3 (three members in each team) for each of the three tracks viz. grand prize Winner and first runner up and Jury award.
  2. The Organizer will identify all winners and the jury's decision will be final and binding on all participants.
  3. The jury will score and/or rank each team based on pre-defined evaluation criteria and the jury’s final scores will be collated and tabulated to determine the Winners based on the parameters determined by the Organizer.

Prizes

  1. Each winning team member stands a chance to win the following prizes.
  2. First prize (nine winners) Bose SoundTouch 30 Wi-Fi MM speakers
  3. Second prize (nine winners) Apple TV 32GB plus Bose portable speakers
  4. Jury prize (nine winners) Amazon Vouchers worth INR 5000 each

  5. The Winner/s will be declared at the Award Ceremony which will be held on the same day as the round two (final round) on July 29, 2017

  6. Organizers will sponsor all the prizes .
  7. The Prize shall not be transferable/ redeemable for cash. No request shall be entertained by Organizer in this behalf.
  8. Any statutory taxes, duties or levies as may be applicable from time to time, arising out/ in respect of such Prize, shall be payable by the Winner of the respective Prize.
  9. Organizer shall not be liable for any loss, damage, theft, or any other mishap caused to the Prize after handing over the same to the Winners of the Contest.
  10. The Winner/s or his/her legal heirs shall have no other rights or claims whatsoever against Organizer.

General

  1. Entries protected under intellectual property rights, are acceptable as submissions to the Contest. However, the Organizer shall not be liable for the protection of any proprietary or confidential information contained in any entry form.
  2. The idea as submitted by the participant shall remain the property of the participant.
  3. The participant warrants and represents that it owns all rights, or has all necessary licenses, to use any and all idea/s (and all constituent parts) they will be submitting under this Contest for judging, including without limitation all content, images, text, or other copyright material, trademarks, service marks, logos or any other intellectual property contained within its Idea, and can, upon request, provide written confirmation of such ownership or license to the Organizers. The participant further warrants and represents that all the idea/s are original and have been legally obtained and created, and do not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other legal or moral rights of any third party.
  4. The participant grants to Organizers and its affiliates, the right and permission to reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, broadcast, display, publicly perform, exhibit and/or otherwise use or reuse (without limitation as to when or to the number of times used), the participant's name, address, image, voice, likeness, statements, biographical material and idea/s (in each case, as submitted or as edited by Organizer, in Organizer's sole discretion), as well as any additional photographic images, video images, portraits, interviews or other materials relating to the participant and arising out of his/her participation in this Contest (with or without using the participant's name) (collectively, the "additional materials") in any media throughout the world for advertising and publicity purposes without additional review, compensation, or approval.
  5. The participant waives any rights of publicity, rights of privacy, intellectual property rights, and any other legal or moral rights that might preclude the Organizers' use of the Idea/s or the additional materials or require the participant's permission for Organizers' to use them for promotional purposes, and hereby waives any claim against the Organizers' relating to the Organizers' promotional use of those materials.
  6. The participant agrees to indemnify and hold the Organizer and their respective affiliates, directors, employees, agents and partners (“Organizer’s Associates”) harmless from any and all direct and indirect claims, damages, expenses, costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) and liabilities (including settlements), brought or asserted by any third party against any of the Organizers' Associates due to or arising out of the use of the idea/s or additional materials and/or in connection with participation in or winning the Contest.
  7. Organizer will not be liable for any inaccuracy, error or omission contained in any such copy, reproduction or publication of the entry form, the idea/s or other materials submitted.
  8. The Rules are to be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India. All disputes relating to or arising out of the Contest shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction at Mumbai, India.
  9. If any manipulation (for example, any internet spamming or unsolicited emails, or any other conduct which Organizer believes is unfair or contrary to the spirit of the Contest) occurs or if the Organizer considers there has been any attempt to rig the selection procedure, Organizer reserves the right to disqualify entries if it has reasonable grounds to believe so and reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend this Contest at any time.
  10. The Organizer shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage that any person or organization may suffer as a result of participating or attempting to participate in the Contest, the Contest being withdrawn or its terms amended.
  11. The Organizer cannot and shall not be accountable / liable for any disruptions / stoppages / interruptions or cancellation of the Contest. The Organizer and its contractors, assisting in organizing the contest, cannot be held responsible for matters out of its control and for force majeure reasons.
  12. Decision of Organizer on all matters is final and binding on all participants and no correspondence will be entertained regarding the same.
  13. Organizer reserves the right to alter the Rules of this Contest or terminate the Contest at its own discretion and without prior notice to the participant and without incurring any liability whatsoever.

Accenture will not share your personal information with any third party, except as needed to be disclosed to any statutory authorities or bodies and to manage the events or features for which you register.

You hereby agree and acknowledge transferring to Accenture full and complete ownership and any other rights toward the contest. You also agree that the personal information collected during the contest entry can be used by Accenture for the purpose of the contest and will be binding with respect to the terms and conditions mentioned above. You further agree that Accenture shall have all the rights including but not limited to use, publish, feature, modify and transfer internally or externally any of the submitted responses or details of the contest in any of Accenture publications, websites and/or in any promotional material without your permission.
