Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL) is a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd. (CIL) stands as a symbol of specialist consultant for all those who are in the mineral and mining sector. With four decades of experience and talent bank of more than 900 multidisciplinary professionals having expertise in Mineral exploration, mine planning and design, infrastructure engineering, environmental management, mineral beneficiation & management services. CMPDI is truly a unique and dynamic consultant organisation across the globe. CMPDIL is conducting a hackathon for Research & Development problem statements to promote creativity and innovation by providing a platform for participants to think out the box and develop novel solutions for real world challenges faced by CIL and the mining industry. Participants can form teams to brainstorm, prototype, and present their solutions within given time period.
The Hackathon provides opportunities to start-ups, research organization, academic institutes, corporations, non-profit organizations, and others to collaborate with each other in their field, learn new skills, and gain valuable experience in problem-solving and critical thinking. The Hackathon will provide participants from diverse backgrounds such as engineers, designers, programmers, scientists, and entrepreneurs opportunity to network and build relationships with other professionals and potential industry partners.
Coal India Ltd. (CIL) has also taken several steps to digitalize its activities such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system & OITDS (Operator Independent Truck Dispatch System). Through this Hackathon, CIL is planning to adopt new digital technology to improve its performance & efficiency and cater emergent issues.
The CMPDIL Innovation Challenge is an exciting and challenging event that can help foster innovation & creativity in mining industry and create a platform where a large business set-up may be created to serve the industry.

1) Stage 1: Registration
Organizations must register as a single entity using a single email ID. Each organization must register only once, and all the members within the organizations must not register individually. All organizations will have to provide proof of eligibility by filling up the form while registering (as mentioned in “Eligibility Criteria”). HackerEarth will cross check the eligibility as per the criteria before proceeding to the next stage. All ineligible organizations will be removed and will not be allowed to proceed to the next stage. Registrations will be closed before proceeding to the next phase.
Opening date for submission of proposals is on June 12th, 2023.
Closing date for submission of proposals is on August 12th, 2023.
2) Stage 2: Online Presentation
Maximum 10 proposals on each problem statement will be selected for presentation based on the selection criteria. Decision of mentor/evaluator regarding selection of proposal for presentation will be treated as final.
After closing of the proposal submission timeline, a separate slot will be provided for presentation on the selected proposals on each problem statement. It is to be done online. Participants have to choose a preferred slot as per their convenience & availability.
Note:
1) Each organization can only register Once.
2) Registered Organizations are allowed to provide One solution for Each Problem Statement.

All Start-Ups / organizations taking part in this Hackathon must satisfy the below eligibility criteria. All will be prompted to fill an eligibility form while registering for the challenge. Please make sure that you fill the form correctly and honestly.
All Start-Ups / Organizations will have to fill up this Endorsement Form and upload the same during Registration. Only eligible organizations/ teams of organizations will be allowed to participate.
