Time-Cost trade-off analysis where time-cost relationship is linear :-

Description: This project aims to analyze the trade-off between time and cost in planning a general project by breaking it down into various smaller activities. The individual activities represent a directed acyclic graph (DAG) with attributes like time and cost. The relationship between time and cost is linear. The objective is to find a minimal cost for the project under a tight deadline by crashing activities optimally (Project Crashing). This involves the use of various graph algorithms and linear programming to reach a specific deadline. To make use of LP, source code (C++) is integrated with the C++ open-source solvers which are a part of COIN-OR project.

Time-Cost trade-off analysis where time-cost relationship is discrete :-
Description: This project nearly simulates a real world scenario. Here the time-cost relationship for each activity is discrete. The problem is NP-Hard, so here we aim for smaller projects where the directed acyclic graph formed is not so dense. Other than that, it involves integer programming (which makes it NP-Hard). A new feature of “budget problem” is also implemented where an optimal solution is found for a given budget. The solvers used for integer programming are those of COIN-OR project.
