This is a team participation Hackathon. Team Size must be between 2 to 4 members.

1. Who can participate in the Hackathon?
Any resident Indian having an innovative mind and don’t mind dirtying their hands to write beautiful code can participate. We have no constraints on Age or Experience.

2. How to participate in the Hackathon?
Participants can register through the following HackerEarth link: hck.re/d4b2017

3. Is there a registration fee?
No, registration is absolutely free.

4. What should be the team size and its structure?
You would need to be a team of 2 to 4 members in order to register. You can either invite your friends to form a team or you can request other teams to add you as a member. An ideal team would require at least a Developer; a UX / UI specialist. Knowledge of banking domain could be a game changer. Please nominate one of the team members are the team leader would can represent the group and drive the conversation on behalf of it.

5. Can an individual registration be made?
Sorry, You must have minimum 2 people in your team. You can either invite your tech buddies to your team or look up to other teams to add you as a member.

6. What are the activities/timelines of this event?

7. How will the participants be informed of successful registration in the event?
Confirmation mail will be sent by Hackerearth to the registered mail id of the Team leader.

8. Can the Bank’s, Partner’s and External APIs be used to develop solutions under themes other than Innovation Theme?
Yes. Participants can use Bank’s, Partner’s and External APIs to develop solutions under any other hackathon.

9. What are the Prizes that can be won?
1st Prize: Rs. 3,00,000
2nd Prize: Rs. 2,00,000
3rd Prize: Rs. 1,00,000
Consolation Prizes (2): Rs. 25,000 each

Selected Teams including the winning ones will have an opportunity of incubation and acceleration with SBI.

10. Will bank provide reimbursement for travel expense for finalists?
All finalists will be reimbursed to and fro budget lowest economy airfares of the travel dates.

11. Does a specific theme carries more weightage than others?
No, every theme carries same weightage. Judgement will be based on evaluation criteria section mentioned above.

12. Does one have to be online and available for the entire duration of the Hackathon?
No, one does not need to be logged in on HackerEarth or be online for the entire duration. However, finalists may have to be physically present in Mumbai for final product validation and evaluation purpose.

13. Is it compulsory to use any specific technology and is there any restrictions on using number of pre-built libraries?
It is not compulsory to use any specific language, technology stack, or libraries. Participants can use any of them to create their application.

14. Since the event is online, is it accepted to show only the prototype?
Phase 1 could only be a prototype presented as a video or ppt. Phase 2 however will require you to build a proper working application.

15. Can the solution be demonstrated remotely during the Finale?
No, the solution cannot be demonstrated remotely.

16. What should the finalists bring to the Finale?
Working application, a brief presentation (video or ppt), if required and the devices needed to demonstrate how the solution works. Any other communication will be provided to the finalists in due course of time.

17. Who will own the IP of the prototype made by the participants?
The intellectual property of the application belongs only to the team/individual(s).

18. Can the documentation of solution be in a language other than English?
The Product / Solution may be in English or one of the Indian Languages. The materials presented by Participant (including any videos or materials) must be in English language only.

19. What should I do if I have additional questions/queries?
Bank will respond to all questions/queries posted by participants on Hackerearth’s discussion forum. Participants can use discussion forum to post additional queries.
