Q1. What's the start and end date of registration?

A1. Registration will start from 14-Sep-2017 till 08-Oct-2017.

Q2. Is there any registration fee for the event?

A2. Fortunately not.

Q3. Will Bosch be paying/reimbursing travel expenditure of the participants?

A3. To be communicated once you are shortlisted(on case-by-case basis).

Q4. Can I have team members from other departments/colleges?

A4. Why not?

Q5. Can I participate alone? How many members are allowed in a team?

A5. Lone wolf eh? Of course you can participate in a team of 1. A team can have upto 4 members.

Q6. Is it possible for Bosch associates to participate in this Hackathon?

A6. Yes, the eligibility criteria remains the same for everyone.

Q7. What should I bring to the venue?

A7. Carry your laptops and any necessary hardware you require for your demo. Also carry a valid ID proof. We are intrigued by funny passport portraits.

Q8. Will I be provided any hardware kit to build the final prototype at the Hackathon?

A8. You will be given a standard hardware kit to make the final prototype at the Hackathon. We will share the details of the components of the kit. If you require, feel free to bring your own components.

Q9. Will the additional cost of hardware needed to make the prototype be reimbursed? Will I get back the hardware I bring? A9. No, we will not reimburse costs for additional hardware. But, the hardware you bring is yours…of course you can take it back.

Q10. What is expected as deliverables for this hackathon?

A10. You need to build a minimum working prototype and provide a demonstration. Easy enough eh?

Q11. Are there any areas I need to be proficient in?

A11. Motion sensors, signal processing, algorithms, activity recognition, machine learning and Android apps. If you have expertise in these areas…wow…come on down!

Q12. Who will own the IP on the prototype made by us?

A12. Bosch reserves the rights of ownership to any work that is generated as part of this event. All participants need to sign an undertaking in this regard prior to the event.

Q13. Should the shortlisted team be physically present at the venue during the Hackathon?

A13. Obviously.

Q14. Should I belong to a specific stream/ discipline to participate?

A14. Nah.

Q15. Will I get a certificate that is recognized nationally perhaps for my participation?

A15. We will provide a 'Certificate of Participation' from Bosch for all the shortlisted teams.

Q16. Will I be provided any accommodation/food?

A16. Yep. You will be provided with accommodation on a sharing basis and food to go with it at the venue.
