Don’t you dream of a democracy built on transparency and accountability?

Well, know this today, you can develop, disrupt, and collaborate with thinkers and doers to make the world’s largest democracy the best it can be.

Amazing technological advances since Independence offer you chances to script a new narrative, one of unprecedented economic and social progress.

Themes

Democracy

Political Transparency

When people have little say in the decision-making process, you no longer have a real democracy. Political accessibility is an issue that’s faced often enough but rarely questioned. We need solutions that make it easier for citizens to be heard by representatives—solutions that can keep people in remote corners of the country informed about the latest decisions, increasing participation in elections and government affairs.

Media

Fake News and Free Press

There is a saying that goes, “Whoever controls the media, controls the mind.” When virality outweighs truth, you have fake news. We need tools for fact-checking and helping people decipher fact from fiction. We need tools to ensure the “freedom of the press” holds for those who are attempting to bring the truth to the public but end up getting bullied by people who abuse power.

Corruption

Bring to light the corruption around you

Corruption is a disease that eats away at the very core of democracy. Corruption is everywhere, taking various forms. We want to build hacks to expose misconduct to help control its spread and purge the system of corruption.

Society

Create a social impact

We need solutions that will ensure freedom from many social ills. It could be freedom from unemployment, homelessness, child labour... anything and everything that will make India a better place to live in. We want solutions that will trigger socio-economic change.

The /Nudge Foundation

Challenge 1: Learning Management System
At The/Nudge, the Product and the Operations team are heavily dependent on google drive for creating, updating, and accessing content and assessments. With the addition of a new course content, the trainers undergo only in-person training which at scale will become a challenge in implementation. Managing multiple trackers and several versions of content on google drive often becomes a bottleneck for program effectiveness. For better organization of and access to curriculum and training content and other relevant data, a learning management system is required for smooth execution of the programme.

Challenge 2: App for community engagement
The /Nudge runs a 90-day fully residential foundational skill building program for underprivileged youth followed by placement assistance and a lifelong support program for them to stay out of poverty. The objective of this app is to:
1. Capture student data across different sales channels (tele, field force etc) on a daily basis.
2. Run analytics on the captured data to inform business decisions on efficiency and effectiveness.

Challenge 3: Assessment data tracker
The students have 10 courses at the Gurukul during their 3-month program and they give 4 tests (baseline, midline, continuous, end line) for each course on an average. The assessments differ in the type of questions, a method of administration, scoring system, tracking, frequency, etc. we currently track the scores on Google Sheets and Forms. we need to consolidate all the data and to compare the assessments over time, and analyze the improvement in learning levels.
