Overview

Open Educational Resources (OERs) are freely accessible content useful for teaching, learning, and research. They have revolutionized the way we learn by making a plethora of learning opportunities freely available to anyone with an internet connection.

However, four billion of the world’s population lacks access to the internet and is unaware of these resources that include the likes of Wikipedia and Khan Academy. This leads to an immense widening of the knowledge gap.

World Possible is a non-profit organization based out of California that works towards connecting offline learners to the world's knowledge. They provide OERs in areas without any access to the internet using two tools: OER2Go, a repository of downloadable content, and RACHEL (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning).

The Hack for Education aims to help World Possible in its journey by making it an easier and better experience for the learners and the creators. You can create solutions and help them change lives all over the world one school at a time.

Find the OER2Go repository here.
