This is a team hackathon event. You can have a maximum of three (3) members in your team.
A team can submit only one idea from for any of the four available themes.
A person can be part of only one team in case their entry is shortlisted for the Offline Hackathon event.
A person has to be a registered member with Hackerearth at the time of Offline hackathon.
Entries without the Idea Submission Presentation will not be considered for evaluation. Refer to the Idea Submission Template at here.
Entries must be submitted on the Hackerearth site.
Shortlisted teams will receive an email communicating their selection for the Offline Hackathon.
Offline Hackathon rules will be communicated to shortlisted teams.
Shortlisted teams will receive a prepaid card valued at Rs 10,000. This prepaid card will be provided to the team when they register for the Offline Hackathon event at the Mastercard office.
Offline Hackathon will be a 2 day event, to be held at the Mastercard office in Pune. The address is Mastercard Technology Pvt. Ltd, Wing 1, Tower A, 3rd Floor, Business Bay, Survey No 103, Opposite Poona Golf Course, Airport Road, Yerawada, Pune, Maharashtra 411006.
Mastercard will not reimburse or compensate for any costs associated with travel or lodging for the event apart from prepaid card valued at Rs 10,000.
During Offline Hackathon all meals will be provided by Mastercard.
Arrangements will be made at Mastercard Office for teams that are working on their solution overnight during Offline Hackathon.
Participants are required to carry their own digital devices to develop and present the solution. Examples of hardware & software - Laptop, mobile devices, POS machines, NFC Card Readers, Wearables, IoT Devices, Pen Drives, CD, DVD etc.
Mastercard will provide Wi-Fi connectivity during the Offline Hackathon.
Unavailability of deliverables will result in disqualification of the team during Offline Hackathon and will not be allowed to present their solution. Refer to Terms & Conditions for more details.
You will not be able add team members after idea submission phase ends.
Mastercard Employees are eligible to participate subject to certain conditions. Refer to Terms & Conditions for more details.
Decision of Mastercard will be final and cannot be challenged in anyway.
Rules will need to be followed as communicated by Mastercard during presentation sessions at the Offline Hackathon.
Your team will be disqualified if anyone in your team
- Displays offensive behavior, verbal abuse, intimidation, sexual language, sexual imagery, or harasses team members, other teams, or staff
- Creates any kind of nuisance during final demo sessions
- Misuses the Wi-Fi hotspot, Facilities provided
Your team will not have access to Mastercard network at any point of time.
Your team will have to provide four (4) deliverables before the final presentation during offline hackathon.
- Executive Presentation (format of the presentation will be communicated to shortlisted teams)
- Working Demo of Your Solution at the Offline Hackathon venue
- Video (recorded offline) with voice over of the Idea Demonstration
- Source Code along with Installation/Configuration details documenting all the necessary information related to usage of external devices/Third Party APIs/Technology Stack
If you are a Mastercard Employee, you can only form a team along with other Mastercard Employees or Contingent Workers contracted to work within Mastercard.
Mastercard Employees are required to register using their Personal Email IDs
You hereby represent and warrant that the idea submitted by you: (a) is your own original work with no other person or entity having any right or interest in it; (b) does not infringe the intellectual property right or any other rights, including but not limited to contracts and/or privacy rights of any third party. In the event that any third party alleges that any such idea submitted by you infringes any proprietary right of such third party, you agree to indemnify Mastercard (the term used anywhere herein includes Mastercard’s affiliates, subsidiaries etc.), its trustees, directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all loss, damage, liability and costs resulting therefrom.
All intellectual property rights concerning the idea submissions shall remain with you. However, by submitting your idea, you are granting Mastercard an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to use, sub-license, and exploit your idea in any desired way.
If and when your submitted idea is shortlisted for offline hackathon to be held at Mastercard premises or at any other premise as decided by Mastercard, you expressly acknowledge and agree that (a) you shall not develop or submit similar idea in any other similar event organized by any third party in India or otherwise, and (b) all intellectual property rights in such shortlisted idea shall vest exclusively with Mastercard.
You acknowledge that Mastercard may have already developed or commissioned, or Mastercard and any other participant may develop or commission during Hackathon, idea similar or identical to your idea on their own, and you waive any claims that you may have resulting from any similarities to your idea.
You further agree to sign any necessary documentation that may be required for Mastercard to make use of the rights you have granted above.
All resources including but not limited to computer network, facilities, platforms, datasets etc. made available by Mastercard to you during or in connection with the Hackathon shall remain the sole and exclusive property of Mastercard. The said resources should not be stored, reverse-engineered, copied, deduced, extracted or replicated in any manner or medium whatsoever, by you.
By participating, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions & agree that and Mastercard and Released Parties & their designees and assigns & all of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives and agents shall have no liability and will be held harmless by Entrant for any liability, loss, injury, claim, or damage to themselves or any other person or entity, including without limitation, personal injury, death, or damage to personal or real property, to Entrant or any other person or entity due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of a prize (including any travel or prize activity related thereto) or participation in this Event.
