  1. Who should attend? We need tech developers, makers, game programmers, rebels that code who are up to the age of 26 years.

  2. Do I need to pay any money to register for the Hackathon? No. You do not have to pay anything to register yourself for the Hackathon.

  3. Do I need to have any specific qualifications to be a participant for the Hackathon? If you love to code and have a revolutionary idea, you are welcome for the Hackathon.

  4. Can I register as an individual? Yes, you can register as a one member team. The team should have 1-5 members.

  5. Can I change the theme my team is responding to? You cannot change the selected theme once shortlisted for Hackathon.

  6. What do I need to prepare for the Hackathon event? What do I need to bring to this event? Bring your own laptop installed with necessary software development tools, any additional materials etc you may need.

  7. How is the environment? Will your environment support any language? Will you provide any IDE and DB for us to work on ideas? You have to develop the entire software application on your local system and submit it on GitHub.

  8. Since there is no specific technology mentioned, are there any restrictions on using a number of pre-built libraries? There is no restriction to use any programming language, technology stack, or libraries. You can use any of them to create your solution. You would need to provide the licensing information with a list of software used, if applicable.

  9. Can I get a head start on my hack? To ensure a level playing field for all participants, all code and assets must be created during the hackathon. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the offending team's disqualification. You are, however, free to make plans, create wireframes, and brainstorm prior to the event.

  10. How do I submit what I have made for the Hackathon? You have to develop the application on your local system and submit it on GitHub (private repositories would be provided) in tar/zip file format along with instructions to run the application and source code.

  11. Do we need to have the entire idea fully working? The entire idea need not be fully implemented however, the submission should be functional so that it can be reviewed by the judges.

  12. Do I need to give a demo of the product that I have built? There will be 2 pitching sessions at the end of the hackathon for teams to present their ideas in front of the judging panel. It's advisable to submit a small presentation or video that demos your submission.

  13. What are the judges looking for? The judges will be looking at how unique and interesting your idea is, how close it is to being a product, how creative your solution is and how convincing your pitch presentation is.

  14. Will there be wireless internet access? Yes, we will be providing high-speed wireless internet access to all participants. However, you are free to bring an internet stick as a backup if you want.

  15. Will PC’s or laptops be provided? No. PC's or laptops will not be provided, you need to get your own.

  16. Will there be refreshments and other meals provided? Absolutely! Your meals will be free and there’ll be plenty of snacks and drinks to keep you energized.

  17. Will there be travel reimbursements? If you are outstation participants, our travel partner offers you discounts on your flight expenses. The details of the same shall be notified once your team has been shortlisted to attend SRM Hackathon.

  18. Where do we stay on 12th October night? You will be spending the night at the venue, coding and developing your product.

  19. Where can I sleep? We have unlimited caffeine to help you code through the night! We'll still try and provide mattresses/bean bags for you to take rest at the venue. However, it is recommended that you carry your own sleeping bag if you are a sleep-fanatic!

  20. Who will own the IP(Intellectual Property) Rights to the product that I have built? The developer/developers of the web/mobile application will have all rights and own the IP of the product. However, all code needs to be in the public domain (open source) so that it can be evaluated by the judges.
