FAQs

1. Do I need to pay any money to register for the open API challenge?
No. You are not required to spend anything to participate in Route Mobile's open API challenge.

2. Do I need to have any specific qualifications to be a participant in the challenge?
If you enjoy coding, you are welcome to participate in the open API challenge.

3. How do I submit my project?
You must build the application on your local system and submit it to team RAPID in tar/zip format, along with instructions on how to execute it and the source code.

4. Is it necessary for the entire concept to be fully functional?
The entire concept does not have to be implemented; however, the submission must be functional in order for the judges to evaluate it.

5. How is the environment? Will your environment support any language? Will you provide any IDE and DB for us to work on ideas?
You have to develop the entire software application on your local system and submit it on HackerEarth in tar/zip file format along with instructions to run the application and source code.

6. Is it necessary to stay online and be available throughout the challenge?
No, you don't have to be logged in to RAPID or be online the entire time. You can create the application on your own computer using the provided themes and then submit it to team RAPID via the challenge page.

7. Since there is no specific technology mentioned, are there any limitations on the amount of pre-built libraries that can be used?
There are no limitations/restrictions on the languages, technological stacks, or libraries that can be used. You can use any of them to build a web/mobile application.

8. Do I need to give a demo for the product that I have built?
You can submit a small presentation or video that demonstrates your submission if you like, but it is not mandatory and is simply useful to have. If you are chosen as one of the winners, you may be asked to present your application at a physical event, the details of which will be communicated to you with prior notice.

9. A fully built application requires a reliable data storage backend, such as SQL or SharePoint. Since it's online, is it okay to only share the prototype?
Yes, it is absolutely fine to submit just the prototype. If you use any database like MySQL or PostgresSQL, you can also submit a database dump along with your submission. However, you are allowed to submit just the prototype.

10. Is it true that if it's a collaborative submission, all members of the team will have access to work at the same time?
Yes, all team members can use their team account to submit the application to team RAPID.

11. Who will own the IP(Intellectual Property) rights of the product that I will be building?
The developer(s) of the Route Mobile web/mobile application will have complete control over the product's IP. However, all codes must be in the public domain (open source) in order for the judges to evaluate them.

12. What shall I do if the campaign timelines appear to be different on the mobile interface?
A developer should avoid using a tablet or mobile device to interact with the RAPID platform.
The optimal use of the website can be made on a desktop or a laptop.
