  1. Will my information be kept confidential? Yes. We at Pride Circle value privacy, so an individual can participate without revealing their identity

  2. Can I participate if I am not "out" or closeted? Yes.

  4. Can I register with my preferred name? Yes!

  5. Is this Hackathon only for those with a technical background? Not at all! This Hackathon is for people from any and every background. We have Technical, Non-Technical, and Social Good tracks.

  6. Can I participate in teams for the Pride Hackathon 2020? No. Pride Hackathon 2020 is an individual event. You cannot participate in teams.

  7. How many problem statements can I solve? You can solve a maximum of 3 problem statements from any theme and any company, in any combination.

  8. Can I solve problem statements for 3 different companies? Yes. You can solve a maximum of 3 problem statements from any theme and any company, in any combination.

  9. Do I need to pay any money to register for the Hackathon? No. The event is completely FREE of cost. You do not have to pay anything to anyone to register yourself for the Pride Hackathon 2020.

  10. Do I need to have any specific qualifications to be a participant for the Hackathon? No. Pride Hackathon 2020 is open to anyone and everyone as long as you identify as belonging to the LGBT+ community, and are at least 18 years of age as of 1st November 2020. It is open to students, freshers, and experienced professionals with 1-20 years of work experience.

  11. How do I submit my solutions for the Hackathon? Please watch this short video to know how to make your submissions.

  12. What file or document format can I make my submissions in? You can make your submissions in PPT, PDF, or Word format.

  13. Do we need to have a working prototype? No. This Hackathon has an ideation phase only. You have to only submit a detailed explanation of your idea, that clearly explains your solution. However, you could be given bonus points for a working prototype by some companies.

  14. How much time do I have to submit my solution? You have 30 days to submit your solution, from 1st November 2020 to 1st December 2020.

  15. Does one have to be online and available for the entire duration of the Hackathon? No, one does not need to be logged in on HackerEarth or be online for the entire duration. You can develop your solution on your local system and then submit it on the HackerEarth microsite under the submissions section of your profile.

  16. Do I need to give a demo for the solution that I have submitted? No you do not.

  17. Who will own the IP (Intellectual Property) Rights to the product that I have built? The participant will have all rights and own the IP of the product. However, the company that provided the problem statement to which you have submitted the solution may ask you to transfer the IP rights of your solution to them at a later date. This is between the participant and the company.

  18. When will the winners be announced? The winners will be announced after the companies have gone through the shortlisted results, tentatively 15th December 2020.
