Provide a working prototype solution to gauge the appropriate unit wise price range for the 3 categories (Training data sets will be provided) based on their units by removing outliers from the data. This deliverable is to gauge your understanding of the problem and guide you towards the building of the right solution.

Besides this, you need to briefly describe:

  • Algorithm/Model used
  • Code Applied
  • Language/Tech used
  • Any assumptions taken

Entries will be judged on the accuracy of their model, consistency in approach and potential scalability.

Expected Outcome:
The price of Pure Sugar per kg ranges from Rs 20 to Rs 90.

Shortlisting Date: 14th June 2019

In this phase, you have to implement your prototype on 100 categories from varied industries. We understand that your approach, model or methodology may change with this huge data. Hence a write-up with the solution has to be submitted which should contain the following:

  • Algorithm/Model used
  • Code applied
  • Language/ Tech used
  • Any assumptions taken

Entries will be judged on the accuracy of their model, consistency in approach and potential scalability.

Expected Outcome:
The price of Pure Sugar per kg ranges from Rs 20 to Rs 90.

Shortlisting Date: 22nd July 2019

Predict the Price

Recently a trend has been observed in the online marketplace that a lot of weight is given by the user to the price point of products in searches. In the USA, due to price transparency and ease of shopping, Amazon has taken over to become the default search engine for product discovery (surpassing Google).

Price acquisition at IndiaMART was started in 2015. Currently, there are 1lac categories with ~1.5cr Products in IndiaMART with the price. With such great coverage, comes the issue of accuracy.

Currently, due to the UGC content on Indiamart, we have a range of prices listed using a variety of units. We are looking for a working prototype solution to gauge the appropriate price range per unit for each of the categories listed on Indiamart.

In order to do this, you will need to bucket all prices based on their units, remove outliers from the data, and determine the appropriate price range for each different but significant unit in the category.

Points of Evaluation:

  • Primary/Secondary Research
  • Accuracy of the model in predicting the correct price range across categories
  • Scalability of the model
  • Algorithm/Model Used
  • Code Applied
