The AWS Digital Innovation India program that focuses on innovation for the Public Sector is hosting a Hackathon. The objective of this hackathon is to crowdsource ideas from the citizens, for the citizens, to address societal challenges.
What is the AWS Digital Innovation program?
The AWS Digital Innovation program introduces business leaders to Amazon's peculiar, customer-centric approach to innovation. The program helps our customers learn and use Amazon’s innovation mechanisms to solve mission-critical problems. The program also enables our customers to imagine and build futuristic solutions and opportunities. It is structured to progress from ideation to a working solution/prototype in a matter of weeks. In this program we take customers rapidly through a multi-week engagement inspired by our internal Working Backwards process to conceive and build a digital product or service on AWS.

Overview : Agricultural supply chain in India is impacted by middlemen, mismanaged mandis and inconsistent pricing. The percentage losses in the post-harvest sector adversely affect the Indian economy and are estimated to be from 10-25% in durables, semi-perishables and products like milk, meat, fish and eggs, and 30-40% in fruits and vegetables. We are looking for innovative solutions that solve for post-harvest challenges and bring efficiencies in the agriculture supply chain.

Overview : While frontline healthcare workers are at the core of Indian rural health services and valued for their efforts, adoption of digital technologies needs to improve to enable better efficiency and implementation of health programmes. These digital technologies will reduce inconsistencies in data collection and boost access to patients and their longitudinal health information at the right time. Technology can also empower scaling of health tech products and eventually better care for citizens. Hence, we aim to leverage technology for training, enabling and support these workers.

Rapid urbanization and rising motorization are fuelling India’s demand for mobility and leading to inevitable mobility challenges such as congestion, air pollution, and increased time of travel.
