Calling all women in technology!

Accenture invites you to participate in DevelopHER: All-Female Innovation Challenge, our annual technology hackathon. This is your opportunity to turn your innovative ideas into reality, right in the comfort of your own home.

This year’s hackathon will be virtual and will have two rounds prior to the selection of winners.

WHAT’S DEVELOPHER: ALL-FEMALE INNOVATION CHALLENGE?

Now on its third year, DevelopHER: All-Female Innovation Challenge is an annual hackathon that aims to encourage female developers, designers and beginners — both graduating college students and professionals—to use their skills and capabilities to develop technology solutions to a stated problem statement.

During the challenge, participants will work closely with technology experts from Accenture and other industry experts in the Philippines.

CAN I/WE JOIN?

If you are female with a keen interest in technology, and you have an innovative idea and can develop a prototype within the time frame allocated for the challenge, you can join! You must also be 18 years old or older and based in the Philippines.

If you are a female Accenture employee, you may join the challenge as part of a group of four (4) members, provided that the other three (3) are non-Accenture employees.

Registration will end on July 31 (Friday). To confirm your registration, you should send your updated CV to the DevelopHER 2020 Core Team via email.
Any applications submitted with incomplete or inaccurate information will result in you or your team being disqualified from the hackathon. Accenture rulings in this regard are final.
Registration does not ensure your automatic participation in the hackathon. Qualified participants will receive an email from Accenture.

Themes

Problem Statement: How might we use technology + empathy and creativity to empower organizations and communities in digital transformation?

You are given the opportunity to create solutions using a wide array of technology capabilities: Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Blockchain, Internet of Things, and Cloud and Extended Reality.

The goal of this challenge is for you or your team to create prototypes of products, services and ideas using open data, open-source libraries, public application program interfaces (APIs), frameworks for fast prototyping and software development, microcontrollers, sensors and other hardware (e.g. 3D printers, beacons, wearables, etc.).

Healthcare and Medication

We are interested in hearing about your next disruptive idea that not only focuses on next-gen experiences but also brings together an ecosystem of enablers to make it a reality.
AI-enabled medical devices, and blockchain electronic health records are just a few concrete examples of digital transformation in healthcare. Innovation is the main process here with the main goal of streamlining physicians’ work, optimizing systems, improving patient outcomes, reducing human error, and lowering costs through amazing web and mobile experiences. The IoT revolution will also have a great impact in the healthcare industry.
You are expected to come up with innovative solutions for process and digital transformation for the healthcare industry and improve medical facilities all around the globe.

Travel and Tourism

Women from interdisciplinary backgrounds are welcomed to produce a creative solution that can help the travel and tourism industry to function better and more effectively.

If you are an app developer, can you build an endless stream of helpful new apps to add to our phones that adds value to industries and organizations ? Identify the challenges, a factor of problems, analyze them, and develop a solution using technologies such as open-source platforms and relevant datasets?
AL/ML enthusiasts, data scientists, and analysts are encouraged to identify the pain points, analyze the trend, and derive references that can create meaningful impact on major industry sectors.
If IoT integration excites you, we urge you to showcase your analytic skill over connecting devices and innovation by integrating technology and expertise to make production faster, simpler and more efficient using data analytics and prediction algorithms to develop solutions for the cause.
