A QA engineer plays an important role in contributing to the phenomenal user experience that we are after.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • You come up with routine testing for integration, system, functional automation, load and performance.
  • Like a thumb rule of QA, everything starts in building a comprehensive test cases document and you should be the best at it.
  • You identify gaps in the QA process and aim for the highest possible QA coverage although we know that 100% coverage is a moonshot. But you are brave enough to defy the ordinary and give it all you got.
  • You establish tight work-relationships with Product management, Dev and Design teams to support a considerable coverage.
  • You love regression tests and campaign to do these tests on a periodic basis and own the hat of ensuring performance of prod is at its optimum.
  • Automate using tools like Selenium, debug on tools like Phabricator - you have the experience to set this up. You love keeping yourself updated with the latest QA trends and take pride in sharing your learning and driving the team to adopt QA best practices.
  • Occasionally you don’t mind to even blog about your learning, brag about it and talk about what you believe is right way to QA.
  • You keep your documentation of QA metrics, limitations, reporting and tracking upto date.
  • You are obsessed with quality and user experience is of highest priority.
  • You love problems and more so have a passion in solving them.
  • Most importantly, you love being a QA and intend to have a lot of fun as a QA engineer.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of quality assurance experience.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of SDLC, STLC, WDLC and product life cycles.
  • Able to read and understand business/product requirements from a combination of wireframe/visual designs and formal requirements documents and formulate use cases/test cases.
  • Develop Automation using Selenium framework(Python & Java)
  • Experience with a variety of types of testing, including regression, performance, stress, unit, integration, and security testing.
  • Hands on experience in Keeping track of the new requirements and elicit requirements and decide test strategy.
  • Experience in functional (manual & automation) and non-functional testing, prepare detailed test plan and strategy.
  • Working experience on any one or two defect tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of Performance Testing tools, Load Runner & JMeter is an advantage.
  • Load testing in a SQL environment is an advantage.
  • Experience in API testing is a plus.
