Rules

Following are the details for your perusal and necessary action:

GENERAL RULES

  1. The registrants up to the age of 30 years are eligible for participation and prizes. A valid photo-identification proof is required.

  2. All code must be written during the event. You are required to build your project from scratch after the commencement of the Hackathon. The first and the last line must be created during the event.

  3. You can apply as an individual or a team. You can have at most 5 members in your team.

  4. Knowledge of GitHub is a pre-requisite for this event. If you’re new to Github, read this getting started guide.

  5. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems / services such as Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds etc. You can use any development platform or IDE to write your code.

  6. The Hackathon will start on 03-10-2016 at 09:00 AM and end on 04-10-2016 at 11:00 PM, you work on your hack during the allotted time only.

  7. There are six themes of the Hackathon, you must submit a hack that is pertaining to one of these themes.

  8. Once the Hackathon starts, you will get an option to submit your hack, you can submit as many times as you want, the last hack will be considered as the final submission.

  9. We welcome attendees from all backgrounds, genders and geographies. This event is about increasing the overall amount of innovation, partnership, and engagement in the developer community.

EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS:

  1. You will need to bring your own PERSONAL LAPTOPS, mobile phones and any other devices with the necessary software. While a Wi-Fi/LAN connection would be provided, tech support for connecting your personal devices to the same would be available.

  2. You are welcome to bring your own additional components, you foresee the need for it (no pre-assembled modules are allowed). The organizers will not be held responsible for any loss/damage to any property.

FACILITIES AT THE VENUE:

  1. Food & Beverage facilities will be provided at the venue for all participants.

  2. Common rooms for relaxation and refreshment will be arranged by the organizers.

DISQUALIFICATION:

  1. The intellectual property of your code belongs only to your team.

  2. Copyright violations, cheating, recklessness and endangering others, disrespectful behavior, immoral acts, illegal acts, use of alcohol, tobacco and/or banned substances at the event, being under the influence during the event, etc. are strictly not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.

  3. SRM Hackathon organizers have the right at their sole discretion to determine whether an entrant is eligible for the Contest. SRM Hackathon may disqualify, at organizers’ sole discretion, SRM Hackathon entries (including, without limitation, content submitted in connection therewith) that (a) are in violation of third party rights or law or regulation, (b) use inappropriate or explicit language or images, or display content that SRM Hackathon or Sponsors otherwise find objectionable.


Hack, meet new people, get creative, and have a good time. Getting something meaningful done within such a short amount of time can be stressful, but we'd like to encourage everyone to take a break every now and then to relax and enjoy the event.

**Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave the Hackathon at the sole discretion of the Hackathon organizers. Thank you for helping make this a welcoming, friendly event for all.
