Tsuru who hails from Japan boasts a broad range of experiences. Having been in the Japanese Heavy Industries, as well as in one of the biggest national newspapers in Japan, Yomiuri Shimbun, and at another national newspaper Asahi Shimbun as a journalist covering the electronics, banking, and capital market. Since 2013 he has worked as an economics correspondent based in Singapore and now works as a Managing Director at Asahi Shimbun Asia in charge of business development and investment. US-CPA holder.
