Themes

Chatbots

Today, we have chatbots that are mostly similar in form. They are conversational systems that we use to play music, tell us the weather, order a cab, and much more.

One of the more intelligent examples is Pana, a travel chatbot that monitors your flights and re-books when there’s a potential delay. And, yes, some of us have already fallen in love with her.

Can you come up with a prototype of something similar(read ‘better’) ?

AR/VR

What was once nothing more than a pipe dream for science fiction enthusiasts is now a commercially released product, as augmented / virtual reality devices are readily available on the shelves of your local Best Buy. But it’s facing a new set of challenges as it strives for greater success in this highly competitive marketplace.

A Survey was conducted to find out how the fledgling AR/VR scene felt about its own chances of achieving significant success. The majority of respondents cited the lack of compelling content as the primary concern.

37 percent of those polled chose inadequate content offerings as the biggest challenge facing the AR/VR industry.

Can you come up with a prototype to solve this problem? Maybe a platform which encourages collaboration to create apps for AR/VR or maybe something even better?

Predictive Analytics

Predictive analytics allows organizations to become proactive, forward looking, anticipating outcomes and behaviours based upon the data and not on hunch or assumptions.Predictive analytics, goes further and suggests action to benefit from the prediction and also provide decision options to benefit from the predictions and its implications.

Image Recognition

Our brains make vision seem easy. It doesn't take any effort for humans to tell apart a lion and a jaguar, read a sign, or recognize a human's face. But these are actually hard problems to solve with a computer: they only seem easy because our brains are incredibly good at understanding images.

Machine Learning

Machine learning is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides computers with the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning focuses on the development of computer programs that can change when exposed to new data.

Because of new computing technologies, machine learning today is not like machine learning of the past. It was born from pattern recognition and the theory that computers can learn without being programmed to perform specific tasks; researchers interested in artificial intelligence wanted to see if computers could learn from data. The iterative aspect of machine learning is important because as models are exposed to new data, they are able to independently adapt. They learn from previous computations to produce reliable, repeatable decisions and results. It’s a science that’s not new – but one that’s gaining fresh momentum.

Natural Language Processing

NLP is a branch of data science that consists of systematic processes for analyzing, understanding, and deriving information from the text data in a smart and efficient manner. By utilizing NLP and its components, one can organize the massive chunks of text data, perform numerous automated tasks and solve a wide range of problems such as – automatic summarization, machine translation, named entity recognition, relationship extraction, sentiment analysis, speech recognition, and topic segmentation etc.

Realtime Location Sensing / GPS

A real-time location system (RTLS) is one of a number of technologies that detects the current geolocation of a target, which may be anything from a vehicle to an item in a manufacturing plant to a person. RTLS-capable products are used in an ever-increasing number of sectors including supply chain management (SCM), health care, the military, retail, recreation, and postal and courier services.

You are supposed to do something substantial in the field of RTLS, it can range from anything between an app/webapp consuming real time location data to performing predictive analytics based on real time location data. Let your imagination run wild. Surprise us!!
