New Normal Hackathon by NEC and Mitsubishi Corporation

Since 2020, Covid-19 pandemic has been affecting many things such as lockdown, social distance, and changing many behaviors etc. It has also brought significant changes to our lives and society, and made us notice a variety of issues exists in this world.

The world is rapidly moving to the future that has been predicted from the past (such as digitalization, remote etc.) rather than a new trend occurring. It has already become difficult to return to the kind of society we had before, so we need to define a New Normal for the future.

In order to create a sustainable & better future for all of us, we need to define and create a new way of being in our society. Moreover, we need to create new businesses in the society where "technology utilization" is a prerequisite, and think what India can do for it.

In particular, in this “With Covid-19 era”, one of the important themes is the fusion of the "real world" and the "digital world" through the use of technology as well as the pursuit of convenience and safety. We call this fusion as “Phygital Reality” which is the concept of using technology to bridge seamlessly between the digital world and the physical world with the purpose of providing a unique interactive experience for the user.

Through this hackathon, we are looking forward to seeing ideas and solutions incorporating Phygital Reality, and provide more convenience and safety to the society.

In addition to above, SDG's and ESG perspectives are also being demanded in business recently, and the Indian market can be considered as one of the fastest growing potential business markets with many issues related to SDG’s and ESG. We are looking for ideas and solutions to solve these issues too.

Anyone who has a business &/or technology background can register & participate!

Regarding IP

The developer/developers of the solution will have all rights and own the background IPs, i.e. IPs which were developed by the teams prior to the hackathon. In case there is/are idea(s) which can move forward to the PoC with the organizer, the IP condition would need to be discussed with the team(s).
