In this competition, participants will work in teams to build a digital solution that utilizes our spotlight API offerings within our Nationwide Partnership Portal.

Home and Auto Safety

Nationwide exists to protect people, businesses, and futures with extraordinary care – and two ways to do this is by protecting our members’ homes and auto. Auto insurance from Nationwide gives our members peace of mind and value while driving, and a home insurance policy can protect our members’ homes and their personal possessions.

We will be offering a challenge to the team that demonstrates the most innovative solution that helps keep our members safer on the road and at home and rewarding them for being safe as well.

We have some things to help you get started:

Set yourself apart from the competition and showcase your innovative solution by using one of our API products available to you through our Partner Portal (www.partner.nationwide.com ). (In this challenge, you are allowed to connect with other non-Nationwide APIs that are publicly available.)

Personal Belongings

Nationwide exists to protect people, businesses, and futures with extraordinary care. In the unfortunate event that a Nationwide member has a loss of property due to fire, theft, or other damages, the item(s) will need to be replaced.  Traditionally, the insurer issues a check to the member to replace the insured items.  This allows the member to get back to normal, but it could take a significant amount of time and effort to find and purchase the replacement items.  How might we leverage E-commerce platforms to speed up and streamline the process of replacing a Nationwide member’s belongings that have been damaged or stolen?

Consider the scenario that a Nationwide member has had a house fire. As result, a number of items were damaged by water, smoke, and the fire itself. Examples include couches, clothing, and household appliance, and electronics.

We will be offering a challenge to the team that demonstrates the most innovative solution to delight our members to restore their personal belongings quickly and effortlessly.

1st Prize

The first-place prize is awarded to the team that presents the best idea/prototype aligned to our identified themes. The judges will determine the winner based on the highest number of points from the scoring criteria.

2nd Prize
USD 1,500

The second-place prize is awarded to the team with the second-highest number of points from the scoring criteria.

3rd Prize
USD 500

The third-place prize is awarded to the team with the third-highest number of points from the scoring criteria.
