Open Gateway Hackathon - India is home to one of the world’s most vibrant developer ecosystems and a rapidly digitising economy.
This hackathon invites developers, startups, and innovators to build API-powered solutions that address real-world challenges across India’s diverse landscape. Using Open Gateway APIs, participants will create services that improve lives, unlock new revenue streams, and demonstrate the transformative potential of network intelligence.
This Open Gateway Hackathon will accelerate development of new innovations and network API-based services that leverage network capabilities to resolve real-world business and life challenges within the Indian market. The intention is to use APIs to improve outcomes in one of five theme areas, promising impactful digital transformation.

The hackathon is open to a wide spectrum of innovators, including:
Students: from universities, colleges, or technical institutes.
Freelancers: independent professionals not bound to a permanent employer.
Working Professionals: across industries and domains.
Creative Minds: tech enthusiasts, marketers, ideators, or anyone with a game-changing idea.
Early-Stage Startups: looking to explore, validate, or scale their solutions.

Participants must be 18 years or older at the time of registration.
Open to individuals of any nationality.
Passion for technology is the only prerequisite; educational background or prior experience is not a barrier.
All participants must be able to attend the in-person hackathon in New Delhi, India (8–11 October 2025).
Travel, accommodation, and visa arrangements are the responsibility of the participants.

Example Use Case: Mobile KYC for microfinance in Tier 2 cities
Challenge: Connect patients to care, enable remote diagnostics, and support first responders.

Example Use Case: Telemedicine platform with network-aware diagnostics
Challenge: Support farmers with weather alerts, crop insights, and supply chain visibility.
