FAQs


  1. What do I NEED to bring to the Hackathon? Your completed permission form Current school ID Laptop, tablet, chromebook or other device AND charger(s)! (Be sure to keep track of these items, WTHS is not responsible for lost or left behind items!) We will provide wifi, you provide your preferred device that is wifi enabled! Personal hygiene items. Comfortable clothes, bring layers and a change of clothes. It is January so it could be 50 or it could snow. Footwear. Yes, you do need to wear something on your feet so please make sure you have something you want to wear all hours. Towel (Yes we have showers and you will be allowed to use them if you like!) Sleeping bag, blanket(s) pillow. Reusable water bottle

1a Nice to have items at the Hackathon Earplugs Sleeping mask Keyboard/mouse Batteries USB key(s) Comfortable seating / air mattress (we provide metal folding chairs) Playing cards, games Any hardware you want to hack on. YES this is an MLH event so we WILL have a hardware lab but feel free to bring whatever you need! Snack or beverage items that are in their original sealed container. We will have snacks and beverages available on site for this event but you are welcome to bring your own. (Microwaves are available for use) Comfortable sleepwear and slippers. You never know there might be a contest for the best pajamas!

  1. How much does the hackathon cost? It's free! Devil Hack 1.01 provides students with WiFi, meals, swag, workspace, and prizes for the entire event.

  2. Any rules? All attendees (hackers, supporters, mentors, volunteers, etc) must abide by MLH's Code of Conduct. This is also a school sponsored event so all WTHS school rules apply and will be enforced.

  3. What skills do I need to attend? Everyone is welcome regardless of skills. What's most important is that you want to learn something new and create!

  4. How big are the teams? Teams will be comprised of a maximum of ten (10) high school students. If you do not have a team, that fine! We will assign you to one during the event.
