  • This contest is open to all the working professionals in India.
  • You can either work individually or form a team of up to 4 members, provided every member of the team meets the eligibility criteria.

 

We believe in gender equality and therefore, we would ask the teams to be gender-balanced in terms of participants. Participants who can form a team with equal gender representation will be given one additional bonus point. For instance, teams with a majority representation of a single-gender will not get any bonus points. The organizer can change this criterion during the contest.

 

  • Registrations: Register for the challenge and form teams of 1-4 members. The last date to register and form teams is 12th May 2022 (11:59 PM).
  • Round 1 - Coding Challenge: Register for this challenge and form teams of up to 4 participants.
  • Round 2 - Prototype submission: All teams will submit their prototypes.
  • Round 3 - Grand Finale: Final shortlisted teams from the cumulative scores of both the rounds will present their prototypes in front of the Accenture jury!

Themes

Air Pollution

Recent reports claim that many key technologies are being used to tackle air pollution, including lower-emission vehicles (for example electric, hybrid, and LPG). We are looking for ideas that work with new technology and provide innovative solutions for car sharing, lower-emission sources of heat and power. Build a solution that can be integrated car pooling, checking pollution from the vehicles, storing data about the pollution and measures taken.

Roll out the use of new technologies in reducing air pollution, which could also play a role in the future. Build innovative solutions to tackle air pollution to provide future generations with a healthier living environment in India.

Water Pollution

The high success rate of the Water sector in providing clean drinking water to customers by keeping sources of water pollution at bay and also minimizing wastage of water, which in itself is no mean feat. It is true that the water sector operates in an environment that is highly variable, complex, and uncertain. Therefore, this environment requires acceleration of technological innovation with its opportunities and associated challenges.

Digital technology brings cyber infrastructure, consisting of data collection systems such as sensors and instrumentation, data storage systems, local and cloud-based computing systems and data-visualization environments. These elements are all interconnected through software and networks. We are looking for solutions that will improve data utilization and that manages a wide range of societal challenges.

Build an innovative solution to reduce water pollution and increase access to clean water in India.

Agriculture

The agriculture industry continues to evolve as it harnesses the latest tools and technologies to help farmers become more efficient and productive and also move towards sustainability. Past innovations were not created on some drawing board in a lab or in an office, they were a result of sheer hard work and were adopted by farmers around the world through skill sharing. Sustainable food production is an urgent task, considering climate change and pressure on natural resources. We are looking for innovative solutions around fleet management, digital sensors, drones, irrigation systems and any real world problem.

Build an idea on how technology can contribute to food production in an urban environment.

Waste

Urban areas are highly-populated regions that require efficient waste-management systems that manage the process of collection, recycling, transportation and disposal of waste. Because of the population density in cities there is improper waste disposal, lack of segregation, lack of understanding of waste types, and poorly-managed landfills that generate ground and air pollution which have had harmful effects on people and the environment.

Think of a modern innovative solution that can help cities protect the health and safety of their citizens while cutting overall costs and conserving resources.

For example, you could build a Bin-E solution that can be a smart platform which works on automatic sorting and also maintains a database for urban waste management etc.

Come up with innovative ways to make urban waste management more automated and efficient.

Energy

As urban hubs are set to decide the future, “smart cities” are looking to re-define their energy mix and distribution systems. There can be various solutions for creating cleaner and leaner energy in urban areas such as financing smart cities, working on efficient and demand-side response and energy communities that build on community networks.

Energy is going to be one of the biggest game-changing industries in the near future. Present a solution that helps in digitalizing energy systems on a specific platform. The aim here is to help in reforming the available resources and maintaining data. Redefine urban energy by creating solutions that provide cleaner and leaner energy in tomorrow's cities.
